COCONUT HOUSE

The name Coconut House conjures a picture of tropical cuisine but tonight's Flat World dinner at this venue was simply delightful ! Coconut House is in actual fact an Italian Restaurant tucked away at the newly opened 3 Two Square in Section 14, Petaling Jaya. Their specialties are woodfired Pizza , Cabonara and Tiramisu. Just speaking to the boss Mr Yong about the spread he had for us tonight , I could feel his passion for food and his many "secret" recipes which he has created.
The place has a nice warm ambience , and can easily cater at least 100 people for a private function. Simple dining furniture and also a cozy sitting area to relax.

The spread tonight was really sumptuous and abundant!

Minnestrone Soup - light , nice but would have been better if it is hot - can't be helped I suppose if served for buffet.

Mixed Vegetable salad- very fresh , served with salad dressing.

Garlic bread - nice bite size , could do with more garlic and salted butter. Would prefer them more crispy too.
The Spaghetti was served with 2 choice of sauces. I loved the white cream sauce with mushroom - very rich and the thyme adds a nice flavor to it. Very very nice......

The other sauce is the Pomodoro which is made from fresh tomatoes , basil and parmesan. I find it a bit watery but it is a nice change from the rich Bolognaise.

I loved the Pizza! The thin crust is fluffy and nice but because of the long hours at the buffet, it was a bit soft otherwise I can imagine the taste right from the oven! All the pizzas are woodfired.

Mushroom Pizza
Margarita Pizza
Hawaian Pizza

Chicken Carciatoca
Stewed chicken with tomatoes, rosemary ,mushroom, white wine and capsicum.Chicken was tender and tasty , served with roasted potatoes ...YUMMY! This can be ordered ala carte !
This is the BEST lamb ever! Stewed Lamb shoulder. Tender and juicy , the rosemary flavor is so soooooo delicious - definitely must eat this again ...and again! Secret? The lamb is slow cooked overnight ...I am so in love with rosemary now....! A five star dish !

ECO-GREEN Organic Cafe

Eco-Green Organic Cafe is one of the favorite outlets used for networking / meeting purposes. meeting facilities are provided , great parking and good food!

The spread at one of the dinners included the following:

Brown Rice and Fried Brown Rice Ulam
Though not a rice person , I loved the Ulam rice, tasty and not oily.

Fried Vegetarian Mee Hoon

Spicy and sour Seafood - prawns and shrimps - not spectacular but tasty
Organic Chicken with ginger sauce - went realy well with the Ulam rice!
Grilled mixed Vegetables - I absolutely loved this , especially the grilled eggplant.
Fruit Rojak - you will never guess the sauce is made from molasses! Yummy!
Steamed Pumpkin cake - light ,local flavor ,very delicious....

My pick for the dinner is the Quail Egg Potato Cup.
I have never seen a suny side up egg so tiny! So very cute! the cup is made of pastry , filled with grated potato , topped with turkey ham and the quail egg. absolutely delicious!
I dont think this is in the ala carte menu , so if you are catering , you may want to request for this - really really good!

Drinks was the standard coffee and tea and my favorite Lemon Grass Juice ! I have not been to any other outlets which serves lemon grass drink! Everyone just love the drink! Very refreshing.

Catering with Eco-green is always hassle free and we know the owners , Mr and Mrs Wong will take care of the menu and so far they have never failed to surprise us! Portions are generous and the place is ideal for small meetings , informal seminars and private dinners.

Minimum pax for catering is 30 and prices range for RM32 onwards for dinner , depending on the Menu. they can cater for lunch, tea or dinner .

SENSATION DELIGHTS CAFE

After a networking session there , I brought my family back for dinner the following week cos I could not resist the tempting GREEN CURRY NOODLES !

Gosh, you MUST try this ! Totally delicious ! The gravy is thick, rich and spicy ! Generous helpings of chicken and oooooh I love those long beans! The portion is huge too! Laksa noodles are used and this just seems so perfect for it !

The
Cantonese Fried Hor-fun was so-so . they definitely don't stinge on ingredients with generous portions of prawns. I find it a bit too starchy but ok on the whole.

The
Chicken Chop was with a difference. Well- marinated with some vinegar and black pepper and other spices , its not the usual type you get. Comes with brown sauce . According to cafe owner Joseph , Malaysian are used to the usual Chicken Chop with sauce - hence the accompaniment . The chicken was tender and the salad was superb!

About the Cafe :

They don't use Aji-no-moto ...yeah.....! According to Joseph they use at least 20kg vegetables to boil the stock everyday ! The menus are very reasonably priced - the chicken chop was RM12.90 and the noodles from RM7.90. and the portions are BIG ! Another MUST-TRY :
Fried Chicken wings with salted egg !

Great place to have networking sessions. Easy parking after 7 pm ( Yes, in Damansara Perdana!)
Kopitiam style ambience , friendly owners .
Best part is : 20% discount for FlatWorld members !

So what are you waiting for ????
